String
String stabs also live up to their name as they are placed up string in the BHA. String stabs are typically placed at the 30', 60', and 90' foot marks but are not limited to those placements. String stabs also have multiple functions. It starts with keeping center your BHA with your well bore, Stiffen or lock your BHA to control drilling patterns as well as assist in keeping a straight hole. String Stabs could be considered the SKAG of your BHA. They are very often used slightly under gauge from the Bit as opposed to full gauge in order to allow needed maneuverability and reduce string torque as the bit loses gauge or when hole swelling occurs. These stabilizers come with matching box by pin connections as they are simply fitting in between two matching otherwise connected members of the string. These tools come with either welded on blades or integral blades (IB) (Non welded). ChrisCo offers both weld hard facing blades and tungsten carbide inserted with carbide composite blades for maximum wear resistance and longer life. Each tool is OD grounded for accuracy to meet your specific gauge requirements. These are typically 3 blades but not limited too. We also offer both minor wrap and full wrap depending on your application. Visit our NON MAGNETIC page. Custom requests are welcomed.
