Float Valves
Float valves can be put in several different locations of the drill string or BHA. They are simply a check valve, allowing drilling fluid (mud) to be pumped through the drill string out into open hole, (well bore) while not allowing the fluid to re-enter the drill string. ChrisCo houses all types and sizes of float valves to accompany our tools out to your location, and/or individual purchase.
What Direction does a float go into the float bore
The float goes in with the spring side towards the bit. So when the plunger is depressed flow travels down the string, but can't return back up.
